About US

Kazuhio Asai is a freelance mobile fishmonger and private chef.
He is an experienced and licensed cooking instructor, working in the
local fishing industry for the past ten years.

Arimi Asai (his wife)  is a bilingual coordinator and PR expert.  She
is an experienced editor and event director.

Together they offer catering services, private events and now a unique
Tsukiji Market Tour and Cooking Class. Fish and Dish are the only
licensed operators that offer a tour with a sashimi and sushi lesson
inside the inner market for tourists, locals, and kids.

Fish and Dish hope to revive and spread the rich culinary culture of
choosing, preparing and eating fresh seafood. Their aim is to share
Japanese traditional cuisine with international visitors to Tokyo.

Fish&Dish Tsukiji Fish Market Tour

We offer a guided tour around Tokyo's famous Tsukiji Fish Market which also includes a special sushi and sashimi making class with a professional chef!

During the tour around the diverse and bustling Tsukiji Fish Market, which has approximately 700 stalls, we will purchase some delicious fish from the local sellers. Afterwards the master chef will give you a sushi/sashimi making lesson at a local store at inner market.

You will cut and trim the fish yourself, make sushi, and eat it immediately while it's still fresh. You can also enjoy your meal with Japanese sake (1 drink is free, but you can also buy and bring your own drinks). The taste of fresh sushi is absolutely exceptional!

Once you have practiced and remembered how to dress fish and make sushi, you can use your newly acquired skills back home, invite your friends and family over, and surprise them by preparing sushi for them!

 

This tour is offered on Tuesdays, Fridays  and Saturdays from 10:00am.

Please note that the tour is not private and other guests may join too.

 

Tour fare:¥ 10,000

The price is per person and includes:
- Guide fee
- Cooking class
- Sushi/sashimi lunch with 1 drink

10:00 Meet at Tsukiji Station

 

10:30 Walk to Inner and Outer Tsukiji market, Your guide shows you around 700 stalls in fish section,

          120 shops in fruit and vegetable section, and Uogashi fish wharf corner.

 

11;30-12:00 Break

 

12:00-14:00 Learn how to make sushi from a master chef and make your own sushi from fresh fish that you just purchased at the market.
